Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

Moonroof

How the Circuit Works

The moonroof is controlled by the moonroof switch, moonroof limit switch, moonroof open relay, moonroof close relay, and the MICU.

The MICU supplies power to the moonroof open and moonroof close relay coils. Battery voltage is supplied at all times through fuse 28 to the moonroof open and moonroof close relay contacts. The moonroof switch, along with the moonroof limit switch, provides a path to ground for the relays. When one of the relays is energized, battery voltage is provided to the moonroof motor. In this condition, the other relay provides a path to ground for the moonroof motor. The moonroof switch and relays are grounded at G501.
